The Inauguration from Abroad

I knew that everywhere and anywhere in the world January 20th would be momentous, so that alleviated some of my anxiety about not being a little bit closer to the US. I had class until 5pm... as soon as the clock gave me permission to storm out of my British Art seminar I met my friends at a pub called "Native State" (Appropriate, don't you think?).
We walked into the pub chatting about how excited we were and realized we were the only ones talking. The entire pub was silent staring at three flat-screens ( right above the whiskey shelf). It was pretty amazing. 70 University students from all over the globe were glued to this moment in a tiny pub in Edinburgh, Scotland.

I ate a burger and drank a beer in honor.

  1. Hello Dahhhling, its ur mommmsie checking in. We miss you all tho you are not missing anything here. January Blahs in NYC, except yesterday was a monumentally important and historic moment. The whole world watched Obama become President and it brought pride and joy into being an American again. I couldn't help but thumb my nose at Bush as he lifted off in that Helicoptor....He belongs in Texas and he should never leave Crawford again. The weather is bitterly cold here, so everyone is bundled up. Went to see bad theatre last night at the Woman's Project, to see Virginia Woolf's only play Freshwater. It was produced only once in 1935 and now I know why. It should never be produced again. But I love Virginia Woolf, no matter. While ur in London, you should do a little background check of the Bloomsbury crowd. So fascinating. Woofie is fine, had her nails clipped last week.....I'm off to a couple of art events this week, will keep you posted....xxx's "mommsie"
